2014 MLS Eastern Conference Standings Prediction
Taking a look at the other side of the table, here are my predictions for the standings in the Eastern Conference. Despite not housing as many of the perennial powers in the league, the East is difficult to predict due … Continue reading
2014 MLS Western Conference Standings Prediction
Predicting the Western Conference is always a tough battle, for differing reasons than predicting the East. For one, it’s been a perennial powerhouse of clubs for a good 10 years. Secondly, where the top clubs finish is always a crapshoot … Continue reading

Handling the Emotions of Defeat
Sport is a bitch sometimes. It’s a cruel mistress. It’s abusive and demoralizing and disenfranchising. And yet fans continue coming back to it, to their team, to their players, to their city. Regardless of how many times they’ve been frustrated … Continue reading

Chicago’s Unintended Unorthodoxy?
Chicago Fire head coach Frank Klopas is bucking more than just his usual dressy garb for a polo shirt and casual pants on the sideline recently. He seems to be bucking many traditional tactics usually seen on MLS pitches as … Continue reading
Formatting MLS, Part 4: Global Tradition, American Appeal
The debate between the so-dubiously-called “Euro-snobs” and the more “nationalistic” American soccer fans has created a clash of philosophies about the sport. Should we become more like Europe and adopt the Old World system of the game completely, or should … Continue reading

Formatting MLS, Part 3: Market Saturation
The diversity our league faces when it comes to logistics (vast geographical distances; an array of mentalities and cultures; varying weather and climes) are enough to doom it from the very beginning. But, provided you have managed to overcome these … Continue reading

Montreal Impact’s Missed Opportunity
Montreal Impact could’ve pulled off a dual punch in the Eastern Conference this year way back last December. All they had to do was select Andy Gruenebaum from the Columbus Crew in the 2011 Expansion Draft.

Once in awhile I get a great idea. It’s just unfortunate that I usually don’t follow through with my ideas by putting them into action. I was told not so long ago that this could be due to Attention Deficit … Continue reading

Semi-Finals of 2012 US Open Cup
There are two remaining games in the US Open Cup before the final. That means another round of predictions, albeit a truncated version. With all four teams remaining being MLS clubs, I’m thinking it’ll be an all-out slugfest with top … Continue reading
